I spent a precious afternoon drawing at the Elizabeth James Gallery in South Norwood, for my first Live Art Saturday of 2018. The event turned into an impromptu workshop as the visitors sat down and joined in with the drawing.
We were looking at images of Ethiopian tribeswomen and comparing them with images of Western models. I focused on drawing a young girl from the Suri tribe- with body paint and an elaborate headdress of wild flowers - and paired her with a drawing of a Vivienne Westwood model from an issue of i-D magazine, with an outlandish headdress.
Can you tell which is which?!
My next event is a charcoal drawing workshop at the Elizabeth James Gallery on February 10th. I look forward to seeing you then!
