I had a lot of fun on Sunday at the CDN Street Art Jam- I've only done a litlle bit of street art before so this was the first time I've had a proper go at it.
The whole event was brilliantly organised by Wesley Baker- he even sorted out lunch for the artists! I am very grateful to him for the opportunity to do this.
Here are some pics of my work on the day- and if you are lucky enough to visit Croydon it's definitely worth checking out the rest of the new street art that was created on the day.
My work is located at the entrance to St George's Walk, Croydon, just below the tribute to 40 years of punk and The Damned!
The brief we were given was to create a tribute to a musician with links to Croydon. I chose Kate Moss, as she is a particular heroine of mine although she is not particularly renowned for making music.
Kate Moss did, however, cover a song by Nancy Sinatra called "Some Velvet Morning" which was originally released in 1967 which was also the year I was born. As it's 50 years since the summer of love I thought it would be appropriate to include the date as well.
